The UFC has re-started negotiations with Fedor Emelianenko and Gegard Mousasi, according to statements from multiple parties involved.
The story initially broke when an interviewer for Sherdog.com asked UFC President Dana White about a statement he made that he had talked recently with M-1 Global, Emelianenko's and Mousasi' management team. White responded that he would love to have both fighters compete in the UFC and that "there's a lot of different ways to cut a deal."
Williams' Analysis: Both Emelianenko and Mousasi still have fights left on their deals with Strikeforce. However, as MMAJunkie points out, those are U.S.-exclusive contracts only. The issues between the UFC and M-1 previously centered around exclusivity and whether or not M-1 would "co-promote" events featuring Emelianenko. Have the two sides found a way around their impasse?
