With the loss of the Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin headlining bout for the UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 106, the organization announced via UFC.com that the night's co-headliner has been bumped up to the night's main event.
Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin will square off in a rematch of a 2006 bout that saw Ortiz edge a razor thin split decision against Griffin in a bout that many observers gave to Forrest.
The card is still strong from top to bottom, though the loss of the Heavyweight Title bout definitely depletes the draw for this pay-per-view. The full rumored card for the event is below:
-Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz
-Luiz Cane vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
-Dustin Hazelett vs. Karo Parisyan
-Phil Baroni vs. Amir Sadollah
-Marcus Davis vs. Ben Saunders
-Kendall Grove vs. Jake Rosholt
-Brian Foster vs. Brock Larson
-Paulo Thiago vs. Jacob Volkmann
-Fabricio Camoes vs. Caol Uno
-Jason Dent vs. George Sotiropoulos
Penick's Analysis: Well, the buyrate possibilities for this event went from in the 1.5 million high end to half that at best. The Ortiz-Griffin rematch is an exciting return bout for Ortiz, but the fact of the matter is both he and Griffin lost their last bouts, he hasn't fought in a year and a half, and in Griffin's last bout he was picked apart by Anderson Silva worse than he's ever been in his career. People want to see this fight, and the undercard is very strong, but as the headliner it does come off kind of weak. They don't have much of a choice, however, with less than a month until the event.

The headlining bout between Phil Davis and Rashad Evans averaged 6.1 million viewers, meaning the peak number for the event will still come in somewhat higher than that. The opening bout between Demian Maia and Chris Weidman was seen by an average of four million viewers...
I am very nervous that Carlos Condit will win on Saturday night, and that I won't be able to fight Nick Diaz this summer. Carlos Condit is a very good fighter, he can strike, he is aggressive and he has submissions...
Georges St-Pierre is the only logical choice for Sonnen, since he's made it clear to the world at large that Anderson Silva wants nothing to do with him. And since everything that comes out of Chael's mouth when hyping a fight can be taken as gospel...
