In news that shouldn't be surprising given how many examples have been given in recent years, Tyron Woodley didn't find out his UFC 192 bout with Johny Hendricks was off until it was already online.

Speaking to reporters during Saturday's card in Houston, Woodley said he didn't find out from the UFC about the fight being off, and instead found out after the media and fans. On top of that, Woodley's unhappy he wasn't in a spot to earn more money on the card after receiving just his show money.

"I got the news as I was laying on the floor in the locker room stretching out when I completed my weight cut," Woodley said (via MMAJunkie.com). "I was down to weight and we got the news. I got the news after you guys (the media) got the news, which was kind of crappy. It was on the internet already. I don't know what time you guys got it, but I got at like 11-something[AM], closer to noon.

"To not be in the hunt for any of the bonuses and knock off this guy who was the No. 1 guy, that's kind of a bittersweet moment. I'm trying to be positive and think that everything happened for a reason. Hopefully, when I talk to [UFC President Dana White] later on today, we have a clear path."

Penick's Analysis: It's been said before but it bears repeating, the UFC should really be communicating with their fighters a lot better. Those affected by this type of news directly deserve to hear it from the organization before it gets out elsewhere, and when they don't it leads to feelings of discontent. The UFC does it time and time again, and it's not right to those like Woodley who have to hear it second hand when it's having a direct effect on their lives and careers.
