The UFC Bantamweight Championship will be up for grabs on Sunday, January 17, on Fox Sports 1, when current Champ T.J. Dillashaw meets the man who never lost the belt, Dominick Cruz.
Now, that fight is officially set for Boston, Mass., and three other fights have been confirmed for the event as well.
A report from UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 1 Wednesday night confirmed the Anthony Pettis vs. Eddie Alvarez matchup for the night's co-main event, and also revealed that Travis Browne will face Matt Mitrione in heavyweight action, while Tim Boetsch and Ed Herman move up to light heavyweight to face one another as well.
Browne and Mitrione are both seeking a bounce back win after first round losses to Andrei Arlovski and Ben Rothwell in their last bouts, respectively. Browne's fight with Arlovski was a wild brawl that ended with him down on the ground, while Mitrione got caught by a choke off an ill-advised takedown attempt against Rothwell.
Boetsch has lost five of his last seven fights in the UFC, most recently getting knocked out by Dan Henderson in June. He returns to light heavyweight for the first time since a submission loss to Phil Davis in Nov. of 2010. As for Herman, the nine-year Zuffa vet was stopped by Derek Brunson in his last outing in January, and will fight at 205 lbs. for the first time in his UFC career.
