The UFC 194 card continues to add intriguing fights, and it's sitting as one of the most stacked events in UFC history.

The latest addition comes in the welterweight division, as the UFC announced Friday morning that Demian Maia will take on Gunnar Nelson on the Dec. 12 event in Las Vegas.

Maia's made a quick recovery from a staph infection after his dominant win over Neil Magny last month. The 37-year-old has won six of eight fights since dropping to 170 lbs., with his sole losses coming by decision to Jake Shields and Rory MacDonald. Since the MacDonald loss, he's won three straight, culminating in that submission win over Magny at UFC 190.

This fight with Nelson was initially rumored for UFC Fight Night 76 in Dublin, but Maia's staph infection pushed the fight back. Nelson suffered his first career loss last October, dropping a split decision to Rick Story in a five round bout in Sweden. He bounced back in a big way in July, submitting Brandon Thatch in the first round after knocking him down at UFC 189.

The UFC 194 card, headlined by the Featherweight Championship between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor, now looks as follows:
