"If he never shows up, that's not on me - that's on him. I do feel like this is the real belt. I feel like he was more than capable of showing up to fight. If he doesn't show up, that's not my business. I'll show up, I'll be there like I was July 11. Of course I would like him to show up and be a man and take his beating like a man... Of course that's scary [to put the prep in thinking he could pull out again]. You go through all this again and he pulls out again. But there are other questions that will still be asked. The show will go on. Hopefully, he will man up and show up and relinquish the belt and be done with the career."
-Conor McGregor talks to FoxSports.com about UFC 194, Jose Aldo, and the possibility of Aldo pulling out of their matchup a second time.
Penick's Analysis: Despite the fact that Aldo has indeed pulled out of many fights in the past, the idea that he does so to intentionally avoid fights is farcical on its face. Aldo's going to show up on Dec. 12, and McGregor's going to have his chance to prove he's the man to give Aldo the beating he's been claiming is imminent. He's in a position to make whatever comments he likes, of course, because of the fact that Aldo didn't fight at UFC 189, so we're going to be in for a hell of a lot more of these types of statements over the next few months. It's up to Aldo now to make his way to the cage on Dec. 12 and shut down the Irishman's talk.
