A fun and intriguing fight in the women's strawweight division is heading to UFC 194 this December, as the UFC announced on Monday that "The Karate Hottie" Michelle Waterson will take on "The Tiny Tornado" Tecia Torres.
Waterson, a former Invicta Champion in the atomweight division, moved up to 115 lbs. to make her official UFC debut in July. The 29-year-old submitted Angela Magana in the third round at The Ultimate Fighter "ATT vs. Blackzilians" Finale, moving to 13-4 overall on her career. That finish was her eighth by submission.
She'll try to put a run together in the UFC against fellow Invicta vet Torres, who has won both of her fights in the UFC thus far. The 26-year-old is undefeated in professional competition, winning four fights in Invicta before getting a spot on The Ultimate Fighter 20. Though she lost twice in the exhibition bouts on the show, she's since defeated Magana and Angela Hill, with that most recent victory coming in June at UFC 188.
UFC 194 hits Las Vegas on Dec. 12, and is slated to be one of the biggest UFC cards in years. The event features two major title fights, with Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor finally squaring off for the UFC Featherweight Championship, and Chris Weidman taking on Luke Rockhold for the UFC Middleweight Championship.
