"My rib is fine, I returned to training now. I'm just waiting for them to book the fight [with Conor McGregor] so we can fight on the same night as Werdum. I hope we're there together... [McGregor-Mendes at UFC 189] was exactly what we already expected. If you book this fight today, we'll beat him. The strategy was already set. We trained for him once and we saw that our strategy would work with his fight against Mendes. We have the most logical way to win and we try to improve every time more."
-Jose Aldo took part in a fan Q&A in Brazil prior to UFC 190 on Friday, and gave an update on his status while also talking about his next fight against Conor McGregor (via Guilherme Cruz at MMAFighting.com).
Penick's Analysis: It's good to hear that he's back to training, now is just locking down a date and location for the fight. Jan. 2 in Las Vegas seems a likely spot for that fight to land, but there are a lot of big fights needing to be made around the end of the year, so it depends on what the UFC decides to do. It's encouraging that Aldo's healed up and training again, but given what's already booked that doesn't mean it's returning anytime sooner than December.
