Claudia Gadelha lost a contentious decision to Joanna Jedrzejczyk in her only career loss last year, and she's determined to get back to that fight with the belt on the line.
Gadelha meets Jessica Aguilar on Saturday night at UFC 190, and Gadelha says she's ready to do anything and everything in her power to get past that challenge to face Jedrzejczyk once again.
"I don't even like to talk about that fight; in my head and in my heart, I'm still undefeated," Gadelha said in an interview with MMAjunkie.com. "For me, I didn't lose that fight. A lot of people who watched the fight think the same. I need to do another fight with her. We need to do the rematch to see who really is the best, who is better.
"I'll do whatever I can to beat [Aguilar] and get the title shot. I'm ready for anything. I'm so strong, so fast, and I did the best camp of my life. If she makes one mistake, she will fall."
Penick's Analysis: Considering what Jedrzejczyk has done in her last two fights, the fact that her fight with Gadelha was so close really reflects positively on Gadelha. If she beats Aguilar - who has been considered one of the top fighters in this division for the last couple of years - it will set up a fantastic title bout in the rematch. Either option is going to be exciting for Jedrzejczyk, but a chance for both Gadelha and Joanna Champion to prove themselves superior in a five round fight would be excellent.
