Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Rashad Evans fought in the biggest non-title fight in UFC history in 2010, getting more than a million buys on pay-per-view at UFC 114.
Five years later, a fan commented on putting together a rematch on Twitter, and Jackson responded to the idea with the following:
I would ask 4 a rematch right now if Rashad promise in writing to fight me like a man! And not like a horny puppy😆 https://t.co/vo4hb2erHf
Penick's Analysis: That fight with Evans was the start of Jackson's disgruntled phase with the UFC. Though he'd wind up getting another shot at the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, the bookings that he got against Lyoto Machida, Matt Hamill, Ryan Bader, and Glover Teixeira all led to less than exciting bouts, and he blamed the styles of those he was facing, along with their tactics. Nevermind the fact that he got a hand-picked opponent for his return last month, only to have another less than exciting fight. Regardless, Evans beat him in that fight because Evans was the better overall fighter, and didn't stupidly engage in a firefight. It's unlikely Evans would try to engage in a firefight in a rematch, but then again it's not necessarily likely the rematch will even be suggested internally at this point.
