"I'm glad this fight will happen. I'm more experienced and focused, now. I was too eager to finish him back then and hit him with that illegal knee. Jiu-jitsu has always been my strong point, but I have been really emphasizing my Muay Thai and boxing lately. When you wish to become the best in the world, which is my goal, you have to learn a little bit of everything. I'm really putting an effort on my striking and you will see it on this fight just like you saw it when I fought Jeremy Stephens. I'm not just a guy who knows jiu-jitsu. Anything can happen... My focus right now is Nik Lentz, but if I win, I want to fight again as soon as possible. I will fight anybody in front of me, it doesn't matter."
Penick's Analysis: For as much as Lentz has improved in the four years since these two first met, Oliveira's gotten better himself. He's been quite impressive in his current three-fight winning streak, and his losses at featherweight have come against a couple of very good fighters. If he can keep his run going against Lentz, it will be a big statement as to where he's at in the division, so this is an important fight for both of them.
