The UFC is heading to Tennessee this August for a UFC Fight Night card, and Knoxville based light heavyweight Ovince St. Preux wants to be on that card.
According to Ariel Helwani on Tuesday's new episode of UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 1, St. Preux wants to fight his fellow Tennessean Quinton "Rampage" Jackson on that Aug. 8 card. Unfortunately for him, Helwani also says Jackson's team "doesn't seem interested in the fight."
St. Preux is riding high after his latest couple of wins, back to back first round knockouts over Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and Patrick Cummins. Jackson, meanwhile, made a successful return to the UFC last weekend, defeating Fabio Maldonado by decision at UFC 186.
Penick's Analysis: I don't see why Rampage's camp wouldn't be on board for that fight. It's exactly the type of fighter that would make for an exciting fight. Isn't that what he's been looking for? Now, I think he's going to have some issues getting to his next fight, because I'd expect another injunction from Bellator and possibly more success that time around, but Rampage should embrace a fight with someone like OSP.
