The hits keep coming for the now-technically-former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones.
According to ESPN's Darren Rovell, Jones has lost his sponsorship with Reebok after getting stripped of the title and indefinitely suspended on Tuesday.
BREAKING: Reebok has terminated the contract of UFC fighter Jon Jones effective immediately.
Jones is facing a felony in New Mexico after fleeing the scene of an accident he caused after running a red light on Sunday. Jones was arrested Monday night, and the UFC made the decision to strip him of the title and suspend him indefinitely after speaking with him on Tuesday.
Penick's Analysis: This isn't all that surprising. They certainly weren't going to be running the commercial of Jones running through a city any longer. That said, what becomes more interesting is what happens when he comes back now that Reebok is out-fitting all of the UFC's roster. Will they renegotiate a deal if he comes back and becomes Champion once again? Will he be stuck on some much lesser tier? All things that will play out here in the future. For now, this may be the most major consequence Jones has faced, as there's a lot of money he'll be losing out on because of losing this deal.
