Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva is soldiering on in his MMA career, as the UFC announced overnight that he'll take on Soa Palelei at UFC 190 in Brazil.
Silva has been a fixture in the heavyweight main event scene over the last few years, headlining five of the last six events in which he's competed. He's won just one of those main event fights, and has been stopped in three of his last four.
The most recent loss came at the hands of Frank Mir in February, with Silva getting stopped just 1:40 into the first round.
He'll drop down the ladder to take on Palelei, who has won four of five fights since returning to the UFC in 2013. The sole loss came by decision to Jared Rosholt, and he's stopped his other four opponents with strikes.
UFC 190 comes to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Aug. 1, headlined by the UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship bout between Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia.
