Anderson Silva and his team have asked for an extension on his hearing with the Nevada Athletic Commission, and Combate in Brazil reports that it's been pushed back to April.
Silva had been given until last week to respond to the complaint filed against him following multiple failed drug tests into his UFC 183 bout with Nick Diaz. He's maintained no intentional wrong-doing, and it's expected he'll blame supplements in recovery from his injury for his two failed tests.
He'll be subject to a fine and suspension from the commission, as well as the overturning of his win over Diaz.
Penick's Analysis: Silva has said his team would be testing everything he used in the lead up to the fight to find out what caused the failed test, and it's possible they're asking for more time to continue those tests. Of course, that's if it was actually caused by a tainted supplement and if it's not just further posturing from his team. Eventually he'll have to try to explain his side to the commission, we've just got a bit longer until that happens now.
