"It was a knee, then a throw, then a scramble, and then my arm was – she was wrapped around my arm. I don't know. I got caught. I was ready to do a million different things. I planned on getting in a fist fight tonight, not being done in 15 seconds. I don't know. I don't know what to say. I got caught. I'm a better fighter for it... She's really good, but that wouldn't happen again. I just want to know what I need to do to get in there again. Who's No. 2? I'll fight them. I'll get back. How do I get this again? ... Some things in life, you don't get them the first shot. Some things take a few times. Some things take whatever. But as long as you keep trying, and until you get it and figure it out – and crap, it's not always the easy road. I don't often get to take the easy road, but I find my way around."
-Still in disbelief over her 14-second loss to Ronda Rousey, Cat Zingano tried to talk her way to understanding while seeking the path to a rematch during the UFC 184 post-fight press conference (via MMAJunkie.com).
Penick's Analysis: Zingano's got to bounce back as soon as she can here this year, try to shake off the mental blow that was this loss, and just fight her way back to force the UFC to give her another shot. It may not be easy, but she's been through worse, and the key now is to not let what happened on Saturday night crush her entirely. The mental strain of that loss is going to be the thing she has to get past first, and when she does, she can find a way to get herself back into contention.
