Three new fights have been added to the UFC's return event in New Orleans this June, with heavywieghts MAtt Mitrione and Ben Rothwell squaring off, Dan Henderson continuing his MMA career against Tim Boetsch, and lightweight TUF vets Joe Proctor and Justin Edwards meeting up.
Mitrione and Rothwell are each trying to move up the ranks in the heavyweight division. Mitrione scored his third straight win in December, knocking out Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC on Fox 13. Rothwell has won two straight, stopping Brandon Vera and Alistair Overeem in those matchups.
The 44-year-old Henderson is continuing on in his career despite losses in five of his last six, including two straight stoppage losses to Daniel Cormier and Gegard Mousasi. Boetsch as well has lost a number of fights as of late, with a 2-4 mark over his last six. In his most recent outing, he was choked out by Thales Leites.
As for Proctor and Edwards, both also hope to get back in the win column, with Edwards needing to bounce back from consecutive losses to Brandon Thatch and Ramsey Nijem, while Proctor tries to get back on track after getting derailed by Yancy Medeiros in his last fight.
The New Orleans event will serve as UFC Fight Night 68 on June 6, headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Daniel Cormier and Ryan Bader on Fox Sports 1.
