Ronda Rousey has faced a few different styles of competitor during her ten-fight career, besting each of them with relative ease. In Cat Zingano on Saturday night, she believes she's got her toughest test, as Zingano's black belt in jiu jitsu is something she feels she hasn't come across.
"Cat is definitely the toughest opponent to date," Rousey said in an interview with UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 1 this week. "She's the one I haven't beaten yet. She's the most difficult test yet. She's undefeated for a reason. She's a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and I've never gone to the ground with one."
"I'm the best in the world and I'm going to win, but I do believe Cat will bring out the best out of me."
Penick's Analysis: I'm not sure whether Rousey actually believes Zingano is her biggest test or if it's something she needs to tell herself in order to be her best. Regardless, she's always as best prepared as she can be, and the results she's had speak for themselves on that front. Whether Zingano proves to be tougher than any other opponent will be seen on Saturday night, but if history is any indicator, it may not wind up being any different than we've seen from Rousey in the past anyway.
