The UFC's best laid plans have once again fallen by the wayside, as UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman has suffered yet another injury, taking him out of his main event fight with Vitor Belfort next month at UFC 184.
MMAJunkie.com first reported the fight cancellation, with Ronda Rousey vs. Cat Zingano now taking over the main event slot.
This is the second time the fight between Weidman and Belfort has been delayed, as Weidman suffered an injury in the fall that pushed the fight back from UFC 181 in December.
Penick's Analysis: Well that's just really garbage news. It was bound to happen that the UFC would lose one of their big main events, because that's what wound up happening far too often last year. They're fortunate to have booked a legitimate co-main that can step into the main event slot in its own right and be worthy of the spot in Rousey-Zingano, but this is just massively disappointing news all around.
