"I think it was after I fought 'Shogun', I wanted to maybe move down to middleweight. It felt like it was probably going to be a while to get a title shot at 205 and middleweight might be a little quicker at that time. I told that to Dana [White] and he wanted me to fight D.C. [Daniel Cormier] anyways. I said alright and now I'm down at middleweight... I don't have regrets about that. I was just really light because I had back-to-back training camps and weighed in for D.C. at 199. I didn't have a chance to get bigger. It was just one of those things.. I wouldn't be still doing it if I didn't think [winning the UFC Title] was possible. It's something you just have to wait and see how I feel at middleweight, but in practice I feel great. My body's doing what I need it to do. I feel I'm improving every practice. Cardio's where it needs to be as well so I'm feeling good."
-Dan Henderson talks to FoxSports.com about his move back to middleweight and why he still thinks he can make a title run in the UFC.
Penick's Analysis: I just don't see it. Objectively, I don't know how you can look at Dan Henderson's last several years of fights, in conjunction with the fact that he's now 44-years-old, and honestly believe he's got a run left in him. Beating Gegard Mousasi would be a good win for him, but 185 lbs. is just as top heavy and convoluted in the title picture as 205 lbs., and I don't see Henderson making any kind of statement that leaps him above the guys waiting or their respective shots in the top 5-10 right now.
