While Jon Jones is trying to repair his image after his positive drug test for cocaine in December, he's at least gotten through all subsequent tests without any issue.
According to a report from MMAFighting.com, citing Nevada Athletic Commission Executive Director Bob Bennett, Jones passed his fight weekend drug tests out of UFC 182, including additional CIR testing done with concerns about his low testosterone to epitestosterone ratio.
Jones did a sit-down interview last week with Charissa Thompson of Fox Sports 1, which aired during Monday's Fox Sports Live broadcast, admitting wrong-doing but trying to lessen the extent of his cocaine use. He's been fined $25,000 by the UFC, but won't face any further discipline with the test having come "out of competition."
Penick's Analysis: What's good to see on this end is that Jones wasn't doing anything even closer to the fight, and that the concern regarding his T/E ratio wasn't much of anything. Beyond that, he's still trying to downplay what is likely a bigger issue with cocaine than he wants to admit, and his contention that he hadn't done it much, if at all, since college entirely rang hollow, and is simply not believable. Regardless, the key thing here for Jones moving forward is to get him to stop doing whatever he had been to get in this situation in the first place, and to try to realize that he's been going down a path that isn't going to be beneficial to him in the long run.
