Just days prior to being randomly tested by the Nevada Athletic Commission ahead of UFC 182, Jon Jones signed an individual deal with new UFC apparel partner Reebok. Following the news that he's entering a drug treatment facility on Tuesday after a positive cocaine test, Reebok is standing behind him.
In a statement first passed along by ESPN's Darren Rovell, Reebok gave a simple comment in support of the Light Heavyweight Champion, and said their endorsement deal with him would not be affected by this news.
"We commend Jon for taking the necessary steps to address this issue, and we will support him in any way we can. The status of Jon's relationship with Reebok has not changed."
Penick's Analysis: This is in line with the comments made by the UFC, and make sense at this stage. Jones is going to take tons and tons of heat over this, and it will be deserved, but hopefully he's sincere about his treatment and comes out of the situation a better person.
