In addition to the random drug tests conducted this week on Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier, the Nevada Athletic Commission had UFC 181's Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler randomly tested ahead of their fight earlier this month.
According to a report from Brett Okamoto at ESPN.com, the randomly conducted blood tests on both welterweight fighters came back negative for any performance enhancing drugs or drugs of abuse.
It's the second time Lawler has been randomly tested by the NAC this year, as he was administered a drug test prior to his fight with Jake Ellenberger in May. That was his first of three victories during the year, capped off with the decision over Hendricks this month.
Penick's Analysis: That Hendricks got randomly tested and passed is good for him to have on the record, simply because of the questions that were raised into the fight with GSP last year. He and his camp made it look as if he was trying to skirt random testing with their push back against St-Pierre trying to set things up with VADA. But he passed his blood test here, and that's of course a very good thing to see.
