"I never ran from anyone. Unfortunately, everything happened the way it happened, but I hope he keeps that title until we meet each other, so I can beat him up and make him stop talking trash... That's my goal, fight for the title again. But I don't think about that now. I'm focused on my next fight. Gagnon is a tough guy, so I'm not looking past him. My goal is to win this fight now."
-Renan Barao talks to Guilherme Cruz at MMAFighting.com and responds to T.J. Dillashaw saying he didn't actually want that rematch in August.
Penick's Analysis: Dillashaw hasn't actually said all that much, but Barao will find his motivation wherever he needs to find it in order to perform to his best. He absolutely can't look past Gagnon, because despite the difference in their rankings, Gagnon's got the type of sneaky submission game to be a trap if Barao isn't careful. That said, Barao needs this win, and probably one more, to put himself back into that title picture in order to fight the Dillashaw-Dominick Cruz winner. He's keeping focused on that, but obviously wants a chance to avenge his May loss.
