"It was better for me (the end of TRT) because I left a boring treatment that was bothering me, and now I'm stronger, lighter, and faster. So, for me, it was wonderful. Doesn't matter what my blood says, nor the result of the blood test. What matters is what is in my head. It was banned? There is no problem. I took 2014 to improve some techniques. I know that is hard to believe but I'm better now. I have been improving my skills, my kicks, my boxing, my endurance, my grappling, my strength and my footwork."
-Vitor Belfort talks to Globo's SporTV about how he's feeling off of testosterone replacement therapy into his UFC 184 title bout with Chris Weidman (translated by Fernando Arbex at BloodyElbow.com).
Penick's Analysis: It's one of those situations where I suppose we'll find out come February 28. Obviously none of us can tell Belfort how he himself feels, and if he is feeling he's better without it, perhaps that will translate in his fight with Weidman. It's impossible to say with any certainty what we're going to get, but it doesn't necessarily seem believable that he'll just be flat out better after stopping a treatment like that. At least, it doesn't seem believable for it to be that way without the help of anything else, and that's going to be another talking point into the fight.
