Frankie Edgar took home an extra $50,000 from Austin, Texas, on Saturday night for his win over Cub Swanson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 57. Edgar's dominant victory, capped off with a neck crank submission in the final seconds of the fight, earned him one of the "Performance of the Night" bonuses for the card, announced at the post-fight press conference.
Joining the former UFC Lightweight Champ as bonus winners were heavyweight Oleksiy (Alexey) Oliynyk and women's strawweight newcomers Paige VanZant and Kailin Curran.
Oliynyk had to get past a major onslaught from Jared Rosholt on the main card, which nearly finished him on a couple of occasions. But he survived, and earned a "Performance of the Night" award for his brutal out of nowhere knockout in that opening round.
VanZant and Curran took home bonuses for the "Fight of the Night," which came in the second fight on the card. 20-year-old VanZant made a major impression in what was the debut fight for both women, as she stopped Curran in the third after an exciting, action packed, and competitive matchup.
