John Moraga is in need of a new opponent for UFC on Fox 13 next month, as MMAJunkie.com reports that his scheduled opponent, Jussier Formiga, has been forced out of the event.
Though the exact nature of his removal hasn't yet been reported, the result means Moraga needs a replacement foe to remain on the card.
Moraga is out to pick up his third win in four fights since losing to Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson in his title bid last summer. He's picked up a split decision over Dustin Ortiz and, most recently, submitted Justin Scoggins since then, with a TKO loss to John Dodson mixed in there as well.
The UFC on Fox 13 card takes place from the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix on Dec. 13, headlined by the heavyweight bout between Junior dos Santos and Stipe Miocic.
Penick's Analysis: If John Lineker is interested in fighting in a few weeks to earn his bout with Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson, that's a fight that could make for a good replacement. Of course, that wouldn't give him adequate time to make weight effectively, but it would be an interesting matchup for the card if the UFC wants to put it together. Outside of that, I'm not sure what other fighters are available to step in that make sense at this point.
