The Nevada Athletic Commission has tabled a disciplinary hearing for Wanderlei Silva until a future date after the fighter's camp filed a motion this week to dismiss the disciplinary action against him.

Silva was supposed to appear today at their hearing, but he decided not to attend as he's on an appearance tour in Canada. His lawyer filed the motion for him on Thursday, and the commission has subsequently delayed a decision on him for the future.

Silva continues to believe he's going to escape discipline despite skipping out on a random drug test they tried to administer in May. In an interview with Guilherme Cruz at MMAFighting.com, Silva continues to believe he's going to fight by the end of the year.

"The three guys that I really want to fight are [Vitor] Belfort, who might be the next UFC champion, so he can't fight [me], [Chael] Sonnen, who will have to wait for his suspension, and Dan Henderson," Silva said. "Henderson and I are 1-1 and it's an interesting fight for any soccer stadium in Brazil."

"Leave a question to your readers: if this fight was in your city, would you watch it? Come on, that would sell out easily."

Penick's Analysis: Silva's camp is probably trying to use the Commission's decision regarding Belfort against them. By not disciplining someone who actually failed a random test, Silva can argue that he shouldn't get a punishment either, when he didn't actually fail anything. Now, both of them deserved to be punished, but by not doing so to Belfort, the Commission set a precedent that other athletes could latch onto.
