The UFC will be conducting some enhanced drug tests for Michael Bisping and Cung Le after their main event fight in Macau on Saturday.
According to a report from Ariel Helwani on Wednesday's UFC Tonight program on Fox Sports 1, Bisping requested more than the standard urine testing, and the UFC will honor that request.
Following the event, both fighters will be given both blood and urine tests, with the UFC absorbing the cost. Their main event bout airs live on UFC Fight Pass Saturday morning.
Penick's Analysis: It's a step, I suppose, but as it's still a "Fight Night" test, then either fighter would have been able to get things out of their system prior to Saturday if they were using anyway. Hopefully neither was using anything anyway, but doing enhanced testing on Fight Night - while capable of finding something a simple urine test may not - isn't necessarily going to catch anything. Random testing remains the necessary step, in order to catch fighters who are using while they're using during camp.
