Following a win over Diego Sanchez last month at UFC 171, Myles Jury will be right back in the cage this June when he takes on Abel Trujillo on the UFC Fight Night card in San Antonio.
The 25-year-old Jury remained undefeated with that win over Sanchez, moving to 14-0 overall. He's won five fights now in the UFC, and hopes to continue that run against the heavy-handed Trujillo.
The 30-year-old Trujillo is 3-1 with one no contest in the UFC thus far. The no contest came against Roger Bowling due to an illegal knee, and he rectified that with a decisive win in their immediate rematch. In his last fight, he was nearly stopped by Jamie Varner, only to score a brutal knockout victory of his own midway through the second round.
The UFC Fight Night event in San Antonio, Texas, takes place on June 28, headlined by a five round featherweight bout between Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens.
Penick's Analysis: This is an interesting booking. From a rankings and notoriety standpoint, Trujillo's a step back from Sanchez, but he's probably more dangerous an opponent at this point in their respective careers. It's a solid matchup, but at best a lateral move for Jury in his UFC career.
