Pat Barry and Nam Phan have each lost three of their last four fights inside the Octagon. However, their time with the UFC has not yet come to an end.

According to a report from Ariel Helwani at MMAFighting.com, both fighters are still on the roster, despite reports this weekend that both had been released. The reports were believable given the recent performances of both fighters, but both appear to be getting at least one more shot.

Barry's been a part of the UFC's heavyweight division since 2008, but he's gone just 5-7 in his 12 fights in the Octagon. That includes some significant and decisive losses, including his most recent outing, where he was knocked out by Soa Palelei. However, Barry remains a fan favorite from a personality standpoint.

Phan remaining on the roster is a little more surprising, as he's won just two of his seven fights in the UFC since entering in 2010. He dropped to the bantamweight division in his last outing, but lost to Takeya Mizugaki for his second consecutive defeat.

Penick's Analysis: It wouldn't have been wrong of the UFC to release either fighter given their relative lack of success, but for some reason they are keeping them on for now. Of course, just because they're not gone quite yet doesn't mean they won't be before getting another booking. The UFC may not have officially made a decision yet, either, so it's a fluid situation until we see either of them officially get a booking.
