By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief David Loiseau left the UFC back in 2006 following back to back losses to both then Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin and Mike Swick. Now, he's set for his return to the organization with a new contract according to MMAJunkie.com, and he's looking to get back into the fold in his hometown on April 18th, when the UFC is expected to return to Montreal, Quebec, Canada for UFC 97.
He has agreed to a fight with Ed Herman for the event, but bout agreements have not been signed.
Loiseau last fought in September, picking up a tko victory over UFC veteran Solomon Hutcherson, and he's gone 4-2 outside of the organization since his '06 departure.
This could be a do or die fight for Ed Herman, as he's 0-2 in his last two fights and only 3-4 overall in the UFC. His last fight was a split decision loss to Alan Belcher.
