Ultimate Fighter 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum is set for his second fight in the UFC, and it will come in the welterweight division against Brazilian vet Paulo Thiago. Gastelum announced the fight on Twitter Tuesday, which will take place at the UFC's second event on Fox Sports 1, coming to Indianapolis, Indiana on Wednesday, August 28.
The 21-year-old pulled off the upset win over TUF 17 favorite - and his Team Sonnen teammate - Uriah Hall in April, and like many TUF vets before him, set about dropping a weight class.
He'll get a tough task in his welterweight debut in Thiago, the Brazilian police officer in the special forces unit out of Brasilia, who has posted an even 5-5 mark in his ten-fight UFC run. Most recently, he bounced back from consecutive losses with a win over Michel Prazeres.
The UFC's second Fox Sports 1 event will be headlined by a welterweight rematch between Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann, airing three days prior to UFC 164 in Milwaukee.
