Transgender MMA fighter Fallon Fox has released a brief statement in response to the vitriolic tirade from UFC heavyweight Matt Mitrione on Monday. The comments from Mitrione led to his suspension by the UFC, and a rather ugly conversation in the MMA community, but here's what Fox had to say herself:
"Matt Mitrione went well beyond disagreeing with the medical experts who say I should be able to compete as a woman, and personally attacked me as a fighter, as a woman, and as a human being. His comments do not reflect the spirit of our sport, where most competitors uphold values like respect and dignity."
