After three fights in the UFC, Anton Kuivanen is now out of a spot in the organization, the latest in a large series of cuts coming as the UFC trims their roster by a significant margin.
The 28-year-old Finnish-lightweight revealed his release on Monday on Twitter.
I got fired by @ufc ! Still living my dream, Doing what i love to do. I'll be back, I'll fight my way to the top!
Kuivanen brought a nine-fight winning streak and 16-4 overall record into his UFC debut last February, but that winning streak was brought to an end when he dropped a decision to Justin Salas. Though he picked up a win over Mitch Clarke in his second bout in the Octagon, he was then submitted by Michael Chiesa in his most recent bout last month at UFC 157.
