The UFC added two exciting lightweight fights to the UFC 160 card late on Wednesday night, announcing that T.J. Grant will take on Gray Maynard, and Abel Trujillo will meet Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Grant steps into the biggest fight of his MMA career against former title contender Maynard. The 28-year-old Canadian has won all four of his fights in the lightweight division after mixed results at welterweight, and he's gotten more impressive each time out. In his most recent appearance, Grant destroyed Matt Wiman to earn a first round stoppage at UFC on Fox 6 in January.
Maynard returns to action for the first time in nearly a year for this fight. After a split decision win over Clay Guida last June, Maynard was scheduled to take on Joe Lauzon at UFC 155, but a knee injury took him out of the event.
Trujillo made his UFC debut in December at UFC on Fox 5, taking out Marcus LeVesseur in brutal fashion. He'll try to continue his run against the undefeated Nurmagomedov, who has run his career record to 19-0 with three wins inside the UFC.
UFC 160 takes place on May 25 from Las Vegas, headlined by the Heavyweight Championship bout between Cain Velasquez and Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva.
