The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale event has added another fight with a former TUF contestant, as "TUF: Live" competitor Sam Sicilia will return to action in the featherweight division against Maximo Blanco. BleacherReport.com's Damon Martin first reported the bout on Twitter.
The hard-hitting Sicilia dropped to featherweight after his stint in the lightweight tournament during TUF 15. He made a successful UFC debut at his season's finale last June, stopping Cristiano Marcello in the second round, but he was stopped himself in his first featherweight UFC bout in October. In that fight at UFC 153, Sicilia was taken out by Rony "Jason" in Brazil.
Blanco enters the April 13 event in desperate need of a victory, having lost his last two bouts. After a submission loss to Pat Healy in his only fight in Strikeforce, Blanco dropped to featherweight for his UFC debut last April, and dropped a split decision to Marcus Brimage. Prior to his current drought, Blanco had won six straight fights, five by (T)KO.
The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale will take place in Las Vegas on April 13, headlined by a Flyweight Championship bout between Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson and John Moraga.
