The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale will head to Las Vegas on April 13, and it now has its first booked fight. UFC President Dana White revealed on his Twitter account on Monday morning that heavyweights Gabriel Gonzaga and Travis Browne have agreed to meet on the card.
Gonzaga returned to the UFC last January after a brief retirement and one fight out of the organization, and he's won both fights since returning by submission. In his last bout, he took out Ben Rothwell at UFC on FX 7 in his home country of Brazil in January.
Browne returns for the first time since suffering his first loss in the UFC last October. In the main event of UFC on FX 5 in Minneapolis, Browne was knocked out by Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva after injuring his leg in the opening minutes of the fight. The loss snapped a five-fight unbeaten streak in the UFC, and was also the first loss of his entire career.
The TUF 17 Finale event will feature the finals in the current season's middleweight tournament, and will air live on FX.
