By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief In what amounts to a surprise to no one, Jon Fitch has stated that his much discussed fight with Akihiro Gono for UFC 94 is officially signed. MMAJunkie.com confirmed this afternoon that Fitch made the announcement during the latest taping for HDNet's "Inside MMA" program. Fitch of course went through the 24 hour release just a couple of weeks back, when this fight was first talked about, in the much maligned video game rights incident.
Penick's Analysis: This UFC 94 card just continues to stack itself up with some tremendous under card action to compliment the major main event between St. Pierre and Penn. This card is going to set one hell of a standard for the rest of 2009.
