Just hours before weigh-ins for UFC on Fox 5, the card has gotten another shakeup. UFC President Dana White revealed on Twitter that Tim Means has been forced out of the card, and Marcus LeVesseur will now step in to fight Abel Trujillo tomorrow night.
"The UFC curse strikes again," White wrote on Twitter. "Tim Means slips in sauna and KO's himself so now Marcus LeVesseur vs Abel Trujillo."
LeVesseur was initially expected to meet Michael Chiesa on tomorrow's card, but Chiesa pulled out earlier this week due to illness. As he was preparing to fight this week anyway, the UFC has called on him to step in a few hours before the weigh-ins today.
Penick's Analysis: Dana White's been lamenting the bad luck they've had with injuries, but this is just ridiculous. Means slips in the sauna while cutting weight and knocks himself out, taking him out of the event. That seems absolutely ridiculous, but it happened nevertheless. LeVesseur and Trujillo are each getting an opportunity to get paid tomorrow, at least, but it's not a fair situation for either of them as they have not been training for one another, and on such little notice it's a dangerous fight for both of them. It's not known right now whether this fight will come to FX, or if it will move to Facebook and promote Scott Jorgensen vs. John Albert.
