The much-discussed light heavyweight bout between Dan Henderson and Lyoto Machida will not take place at UFC 156 on Super Bowl weekend, but it's still likely coming in February.
According to a report from Tatame.com, that fight will now take place three weeks later at UFC 157 in Anaheim, Calif.
Henderson will fight for the first time since November of 2011, where he defeated Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in an epic five round battle at UFC 139. He waited out a title fight with Jon Jones, but a knee injury took him out of UFC 151 just over a week before the event.
Machida, meanwhile, worked himself back into title contention this summer, knocking out Ryan Bader in his first fight back after losing to Jones last December.
Penick's Analysis: Pushing this fight to the Anaheim card makes sense. 156 will be stacked as it is, and this spreads the love to the next pay-per-view event. This is a major fight in the 205 lb. division, and it's going to be a very good one when it happens. Whether it's Vegas or Anaheim, the fans will be interested in this one.
