...OH, ONE MORE THING - PLEASE BOOKMARK US & VISIT DAILY!

Both Antonio Minotauro Nogueira and Dave Herman took the booking at UFC 153 on short notice because of the circumstances surrounding the request. For Nogueira, it was a chance for him to fight in his home country and help the UFC fill the card after injuries. For Herman, it was a chance to fight Nogueira and fight in Brazil.
On Saturday, both put on an entertaining fight for the fans, and Nogueira did what no one had done to Herman previously in his career: he submitted him.
Herman has famously said in the past that jiu jitsu doesn't work on him, but Nogueira caught him in an armbar in the second round that forced him to tap for the first time in his career. Prior to the finish, the fight was mostly Nogueira, as he pressed the pace, landed strikes, and hurt Herman on a few occasions.
Herman's defense was on par for a while in the second frame, but ultimately Nogueira's persistence with the submission attack won out. Nogueira bounces back from his arm-breaking loss to Frank Mir last December, and Herman has now lost three straight inside the Octagon.
