Demian Maia returned to form on Saturday night at UFC 153, earning his first submission win since February of 2009 over Rick Story.
The fight went according to the blueprint he used early in his UFC run. He rushed Story immediately, stayed relentless with his takedowns, eventually got Story's back and after failing on a rear naked choke attempt turned it into more of a neck crank and forced the tap.
It was Maia's second straight win in the UFC's welterweight division, following his win over Dong Hyun Kim this summer. For Story, it was his third loss in his last three fights, and the first submission loss of his MMA career.
