When the fight between welterweights Justin Edwards and Josh Neer was announced, no one would have batted an eye if they had known someone was going to sleep in under a minute.
But it may have been assumed that Neer had put Edwards to sleep.
That assumption would have been wrong, however, as Edwards grabbed an arm-in guillotine under a minute into the first round, and once he dragged Neer to the ground in his guard, Neer was out. It was fast enough that Edwards had to notify the referee that it was over.
With his fifth first round guillotine win, Edwards moves to 2-2 in the UFC. For Neer it is his second straight loss, which moves him to 2-2 in his latest stint with the UFC.
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
