Nov 14, 2008 - 3:06:02 PM By: Jamie Penick, MMATorch Editor-in-Chief At the UFC 91 press conference at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Dana White announced that the winner of the co-main event at tomorrow's UFC 91 between Kenny Florian and Joe Stevenson would be getting a guaranteed Lightweight Title shot. Said White concerning tomorrow's anticipated lightweight bout, "This fight is going to be amazing, and the winner of this fight will face B.J. Penn for the lightweight title after B.J. fights Georges St. Pierre."
Penick Analysis: As we discussed in Wednesday's UFC 91 Preview edition of the Torch Audio Update, a Florian win should secure his Title shot. That said, I don't agree that Stevenson should be next in line should he defeat Florian tomorrow. I think a fight with Sean Sherk should be up next were Stevenson to come out the winner tomorrow night, but apparently Dana feels otherwise. Either way, we've still got to wait far too long for another Lightweight Title bout, because when you factor in recovery and preparation time for B.J. following his fight with GSP, it may be a full year from his last Title fight before he defends the belt again.

The headlining bout between Phil Davis and Rashad Evans averaged 6.1 million viewers, meaning the peak number for the event will still come in somewhat higher than that. The opening bout between Demian Maia and Chris Weidman was seen by an average of four million viewers...
I am very nervous that Carlos Condit will win on Saturday night, and that I won't be able to fight Nick Diaz this summer. Carlos Condit is a very good fighter, he can strike, he is aggressive and he has submissions...
Georges St-Pierre is the only logical choice for Sonnen, since he's made it clear to the world at large that Anderson Silva wants nothing to do with him. And since everything that comes out of Chael's mouth when hyping a fight can be taken as gospel...
