When Brock Lesnar surprisingly showed up at UFC 146 last month, there were rumblings that he was looking to return to the UFC while still being involved with the WWE. He had a meeting with UFC President Dana White that night, though reports stated the meeting didn't go well.

That's a bit of an understatement, as UFC President Dana White commented on that May 26 meeting following Friday's UFC on FX 3 event in Sunrise, Fla.

"The meeting did not go well," White said afterward (transcribed by
"It's one of those things (where) it's not worth getting into it publicly. It's not worth getting into the B.S. over it."

There was a lot of initial speculation as to whether Lesnar was attempting to use the UFC appearance to boost his WWE storyline, and a lot questioned whether there was any legitimate interest from him in coming back. In reports since then, it appears Lesnar was working on his own with that, White's comments on the text message he received from Lesnar prior to the event seem to work with that.

"He texted me and said, 'I want to come to the fight, but keep it quiet because I don't want to tell anybody,'" White said. "He said, 'What are you doing tonight? ... I want to talk face to face."

Whether he ever returns to MMA is a question that can't be answered just yet, but this initial discussion on the subject certainly didn't go well.

Penick's Analysis: Lesnar reportedly received a lot of heat from WWE officials about his appearance on the UFC show as well, so this was a case of him trying to work something together on his own. It didn't go well with the WWE and clearly didn't go well with White. The bridge hasn't been burned entirely, as White refused to close the door on him, but it was not a good meeting, that's for sure, and the prospects of Lesnar returning anytime soon are not good.
