In addition to the announcement on Monday that Bibiano Fernandes will make his UFC debut at UFC 149 in Calgary, two more fights have been officially announced for the card as well.
With Thiago Alves injured and out of the card, Siyar Bahadurzada will now take on Chris Clements in a welterweight bout. In another welterweight bout, James Head will meet Claude Patrick.
Bahadurzada made an impressive UFC debut in April, knocking out Paulo Thiago in quick fashion at UFC on Fuel 2. Clements enters this matchup off a split decision win in his own UFC debut. Taking on Keith Wisniewski at UFC 145, Clements edged him on the scorecards to notch his fifth straight win.
Head hopes to keep himself on the winning track after a loss in his UFC debut. He was submitted by Nick Ring last June, and didn't return to action until UFC on Fuel 2 in April. In that return, he submitted Papy Abedi in the first round. Patrick fights for the fifth time in the UFC, and hopes to bounce back from his first loss in the organization, a split decision against Brian Ebersole last December.
