With his first title defense in a state of flux this week after Alistair Overeem's positive test for an elevated T/E ratio this week, UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos took to Twitter on Thursday to ensure his fans that he got to his position by natural means.
"I am professional and I'm [the] champion without ever having used anything for better performance," dos Santos wrote. "When you guys see me fighting that's really me."
With that said, dos Santos wasn't at all judgmental of Overeem, and made it clear he believes it's an issue better left to Overeem and the NSAC.
"About what happened to Overrem I don't know anything more than you guys know and for me It's between him and the Nevada Athletic Commission."
"I know a lot about me that's it!"
Penick's Analysis: Considering it was his opponent that got popped here, it was almost expected that dos Santos would have something to say on the matter, and he approached it intelligently here. He'll let the situation play itself out before saying anything further about Overeem, but dos Santos is a fighter who has always come across as someone who plays by the rules, and reiterating his stance on the issue is good to see.
