"A fight is a fight and anything can happen. They're two very strong fighters, they're at the top of their division but I don't see how Overeem can beat Junior dos Santos. Overeem is [beating a lot of people], he's a lion, but when [he gets hit] he becomes a kitty. When Junior first connects, Overeem's spirit of a fighter will go to the [dressing] room. I think it will be Junior with another knockout in his career."
-Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva talks to Portal do Vale Tudo about the upcoming UFC Heavyweight Championship bout between Junior dos Santos and Alistair Overeem, and why he believes dos Santos will win. (Comments translated by Orcus at BloodyElbow.com).
Penick's Analysis: Overeem's chin has been heavily questioned for some time, but whether those questions are warranted or not in 2012 is certainly up for debate. Six of his career losses have come by knockout, that is fact, but he's taken some big hits in both kickboxing and MMA in the heavyweight division and hasn't been stopped in either since 2009. Dos Santos will test his chin perhaps more than any other fighter Overeem has faced, but that doesn't mean necessarily that Overeem is incapable of taking those shots. I don't think Silva's characterization is fair or accurate to what we've seen from Overeem lately, but Overeem's reactions to whatever dos Santos throws at him could potentially lend some credence to this statement.
