The UFC's Twitter bonus system paid 11 fighters this week in the second quarterly dispersement. Fighters on both the UFC and Strikeforce rosters are eligible for $5,000 bonuses for "most followers", "biggest growth percentage in followers", and "most creative tweets", paid out four times a year by the organization. Those bonuses are separated by four different tiers of fighters, dependent on their current level of followers at the outset of each quarter.
In the "Most Followers" category, Anderson Silva, Junior dos Santos, Brendan Schaub, and Cung Le were the recipients in their respective tiers.
"Biggest Growth Percentage in Followers" bonuses went to Antonio "Minotauro" Nogueira, Roy Nelson, Jake Ellenberger, and in the only double bonus of the quarter, Cung Le again.
Finally, "Most Creative Tweets" went to Joseph Benavidez, Duane "Bang" Ludwig, Pat Barry, and the only Strikeforce representative this quarter, Tim Kennedy.
